When I find myself sitting at the beginning of a new blog post with a handful of my favorite photos on display below and enough writer's block setting in to keep back the perfect words to do these photos justice, I remind myself to go back to the day that these photos were taken and what I thought then. Evan and Jess's wedding day was like most wedding days, perfectly prepared for, excitement and anticipation filling in all the spaces that happiness and joy left open. What made me stop and take pause and give appreciation on this long-time sweethearts' wedding day, was their ease at which they made their way through the motions. I asked Jess early in the day if she was nervous, and she said matter-of-factly, "it's just a day". This same ease was displayed by both the bride and groom several times throughout the day when, as often happens during weddings, not everything went as planned. Over and over, I watched as they both were simply happy to have this day, their day together. Yes, it was a big day, the first of the rest of their marriage, but the knowing between them that there would be many days to follow this big one was nothing less than impressive.
Congrats Evan & Jess, wishing you both a long and happy marriage! Thanks for having me capture the beginning of this new chapter in your life together!
